Important Things to Consider When Collecting Your Placement Letter

If you have been selected for a job, you must provide certain documents before you officially start working. These documents help verify your identity, education, and professional qualifications. Below is a simple breakdown of the required documents:

  • Original and Copies of Submitted Documents – You need to bring the original versions and two photocopies of all documents you submitted during the job application process.
  • Birth Certificate – A document proving your date and place of birth.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) – A document that lists your education, work experience, and skills.
  • Passport-Size Photos (Two) – These are small personal photos required for identification purposes.
  • National Identification Card (NIDA) or NIDA Number – This is proof of your national identity. If you do not have a physical NIDA card, you can provide your NIDA number.
  • Secondary School Certificates (Form Four & Form Six) – These are certificates that prove your secondary education completion.
  • Professional Certificates & Transcripts – These include documents from colleges, universities, or technical institutions that prove your qualifications. Transcripts show your academic performance.
  • Internship Completion Certificate – A document proving that you completed any required internship as part of your training.
  • Valid Registration/License from Relevant Council or Board – If your profession requires registration with a regulatory body (e.g., doctors, engineers, teachers), you must provide proof of your valid registration or practicing license.
  • Academic Certificate Verification (TCU & NECTA) – If you studied abroad or followed an external curriculum, your certificates must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) to confirm their authenticity.
  • Name Difference Affidavit (Deed Poll) – If your name appears differently on different certificates, you must provide a sworn affidavit from the Registrar of Deeds and Oaths or officially register the name change.

Important Deadline: Report to Work Within 14 Days – Once you receive your appointment letter, you must report to work within 14 days. If you fail to do so, your job offer will be given to another candidate.

  • National ID (Kitambulisho cha Uraia) – This is the official identification card issued to citizens.
  • Passport – A government-issued travel document that also serves as proof of identity.
  • Zanzibar Resident ID (Kitambulisho cha Mzanzibari Mkaazi) – An identification card specifically for residents of Zanzibar.
  • Voter’s ID (Kitambulisho cha Mpiga Kura) – A card issued to registered voters, which can also be used for identification.
  • Driver’s License – A government-issued document that allows you to drive and can also be used as an ID.

Key Reminder
